Today Georgia celebrates Independence Day. Georgia regained its independence in 1918 and it lasted until 1921, when the country was re-occupied by the Red Army.

Today Georgia celebrates Independence Day. Georgia regained its independence in 1918 and it lasted until 1921, when the country was re-occupied by the Red Army.

The military parade timed to Georgia's Independence Day will start today at 11.00,on Rustaveli Avenue. The parade will be taken by Commander in Chief, President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili.

In the military parade military men will dress a new form, in addition a new military equipment will be demonstrated. The parade will be attended by air forces of the country.

Meanwhile, part of the parliamentary opposition will not attend the parade. Parliamentary opposition, like most, are invited to parade with special invitation, but their positions differ.

Christian Democrats refer to being busy and meetings with voters, moreover, they are critical for the parade. Today they will be in Kutaisi, where they will arrange a march to the Temple of Bagrat.

The radical opposition is going to spend day with veteran warriors in the Vake park. However, the march will not be organized, as the radicals refused street marches and attempts to disrupt the parade of the military.
