The residents of Duisi village in the Pankisi Gorge will resume protests on Monday at 12:00, over the detention of their fellow villager, teacher Asmat Hangoshvili.

Representatives of the "Robin Scott" fund and foreign media will attend the rally.

Asmat was arrested in Ahmed, a city in the region of Kakheti in eastern Georgia, last Friday. Asmat's mother Tina Gumashvili said that her daughter was sent to Tbilisi on the same day and imprisoned for one month before the trial, without questioning.

The representative of the Chechen Diaspora Mekka Hangoshvili said that Asmat Hangoshvili was planted with drugs while being detained.

Asmat is a member of the "Robin Scott" fund in the Pankisi Gorge. She teaches English to children in Duisi. She previously worked as a journalist for many years.
