Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili does not comment on the issue of citizenship of billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili who has decided to go in for politics.
In his Sunday prayer, Ilya the Second, Catholicos-Patriarch of the whole Georgia, said he was sure that President Mikhail Saakashvili will restore the Georgian citizenship of Ivanishvili.

"We confirm our deep respect to the Patriarch but we still abstain from making comments on this issue," Manana Mandjgaladze, the Press Secretary of the President, told a briefing on Tuesday.
Ivanishvili in the early October voiced his intention to go in for politics in order to create a strong opposition and substitute the current leadership of the country. On October 11, Saakashvili signed the order to deprive Ivanishvili and his spouse of Georgian citizenship. The Justice Ministry reports that the Georgian citizenship assigned to Ivanishvili on July 22, 2004 was suspended after it was found out that he became a French citizen in 2010.
The businessman's defense lawyer on October 21 filed a lawsuit to the City Court of Tbilisi demanding cancellation of the President's order.
