A protest action will be held in front of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Tbilisi on Monday upon the initiative of oppositional Resistant Movement
Resistant Movement opposes the situation around the Svaneti treasury and demands adequate decision from the Culture Ministry.
"At a meeting in Holy Trinity Cathedral we all made decision unanimously to gather in front of the Culture Ministry again on Monday at 13.00, to influence and accelerate the process of making adequate decision, because as we see they just pull time," Soso Mandzhavidze, Resistance Movement General Director said.
According to Mandzhavidze, the number of protestors is very important. "We should support the will of the patriarch".
Resistant Movement calls on the Culture Ministry to put the treasury in the temple of St. Nicholas before a new building of the Museum in Svaneti is built. As you know, the treasury is arranged in the containers in Mestia now.
"There may be many reasons of resistance. I think that Saakashvili ordered the destruction of the museum, because he wanted to build a new building. I hope that we are not dealing with the loss of treasure and their removal from the country," Mandzhavidze said.
