Georgia and China have signed an agreement on economic and technical cooperation on Monday, the Georgian Economy Ministry said.

The document was signed by Georgian Finance Minister Dmitry Gvindadze and Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Chen Jianfu.

Under the agreement, China will allocate a grant worth approximately $9.5 million to Georgia.

As Gvindadze said, spheres where these funds will be directed will be defined during bilateral commission's activity.

"First of all, it will be agricultural sphere. We will define other spheres together," he said.

China is a significant partner for Georgia. Since 2005, China has allocated $15.8 million to Georgia in a form of grants, and granted interest-free trade loan worth $4.7 million.
