Four parties form coalition under billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili

Four political parties have built a coalition under opposition party billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili. The Republic Party, Free Democrats of Irakli Alasaniya and National Forum of Kakha Shartava joined Mr Ivanishvili's Georgian Dream party, he said at a presentation of the coalition.
Parliamentary elections in 2012, in which the coalition intends to win a majority, will commemorate the new country's development and adoption of a multiparty democracy, the declaration of coalition said.
In the case of victory over 'dictatorial power', the coalition promises the approval of a mechanism for a multi-party system, the development of liberal institutions, achievement of national unity and the introduction of a balanced system of governance that ensures the active participation of the people in government.
Specifically, the new coalition also promises to strengthen Georgian security through integration into the EU and NATO as well as participation in regional-scale economic and peace processes. A direct dialogue with the Abkhazians and Ossetians will be started to progress the unity of the country. After the victory, the opposition intends to establish normal relations with Russia with the help of the international community.
The coalition also promises to hold democratic and equal elections in the future. The leaders of the People's Party Koba Davitashvili and the Conservative Party Zviad Dzidziguri joined the coalition,Mr Ivanishvili said. "These parties are not going to be actual members, but they will help us."
The Political Council, which includes Bidzina Ivanishvili, David Usupashvili, Irakli Alasania, Kakha Shartava, Zviad Dzidziguri, David Berdzenishvili, Alexi Petriashvili and Nodar Khaduri will manage the coalition.
"We created a good team that will win the elections," Mr Ivanishvili added.
