The investigative department of the Georgian Border Police forced the captain of the Russian ship PUR-NAVOLOK to pay a fine of 50,000 lari ($ 1 = 1.65 lari) for violating navigation rules in Georgian territorial waters. The border police reported that after the captain, Russian citizen Yuri Danilov pays the fine, his vessel will be released.

The Georgian coastguard detained the Russian flag flying PUR-NAVOLOK ship which has 10 crew, all Russian, on March 18. The Russian cargo ship was detained in the marine waters of Sarpi on the Georgian-Turkish border, for violating navigation rules. The ship was later transferred to Batumi.
