A period of restoration of the territorial integrity of Georgia begins with announcement of Kutaisi as the second capital of Georgia, President Mikheil Saakashvili said in Kutaisi at the first meeting of Parliament in the new building.

He added that the reunification of the Georgian lands always began from West Georgia. It was so in the period of Bagrat the Third, and David the Builder.

"There was a time to scatter stones, it's time to gather them now and this process will begin from here," he said.

Saakashvili expressed his confidence that Abkhazians and Abkhazia will "soon" return to Georgia, and then Sukhumi will be one of the major cities of Georgia.
