In January-July 2.211 million foreigners visited Georgia, which is 54 percent more than the same period of last year.
As the Georgian Interior Ministry reports with reference to the border police, only 520,707 foreigners visited Georgia in July, which is 56 percent more than the same period a year ago.
The Interior Ministry stresses steadily increasing number of visitors from neighboring countries. Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran lead in this regard.
In July, Turkey (126 percent), Russia (91 percent) and Poland (81 percent) were singled out on a percentage growth.
