Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili visited the family of Olympic champion Lasha Shavdatuashvili in Karaleti village of Gori district.
The President also congratulated the judoka, who is currently in London, by phone.
The President watched the performance of the Georgian wrestler Guram Gegeshidze together with the family of the champion on the television.
The President got acquainted with the achievements of Shavdatuashvili and examined the medals won by the champion.
Saakashvili expressed his surprise by the fact that the family watched the performance of Lasha on the small TV.
"These people are very good at work. This is the most unpretentious house in Karaleti. Lasha is strong precisely because he has grown in such a house," the President said.
