A delegation of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly at the first meeting in the Central Election Commission of Georgia studied the situation around the elections in the country and norms of Georgian election legislation.

A meeting was held with the CEC Chairman Zurab Kharatishvili during a three-day visit of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's delegation headed by its chairman Riccardo Migliori.
The meeting provided information about the election administration's readiness for the parliamentary elections, scheduled for Oct.1.

Then the OSCE delegation met with Chairman of Voters' List Verification Commission, Mamuka Katsitadze. According to Katsitadze, the OSCE has always been an important organization in the pre-election period, whose advice and opinions are crucial in legitimizing the election results.

OSCE representatives also meet with representatives of the political spectrum of Georgia, local and international observation missions, as well as with members of electoral administration, the leadership of parliament and diplomats accredited to Georgia.
A meeting is scheduled with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.
