Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili presented the prospective candidate for MP from the National Movement in Batumi. Minister of State for Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic affairs Giorgi Baramidze became the candidate from the ruling United National Movement party for Batumi.
Saakashvili said Baramidze is his old friend. They worked together on the exchange of prisoners during the war in Abkhazia and he is a highly motivated person. He also noted that Giorgi Baramidze graduated in Batumi.
"Baramidze is a worthy candidate from the ruling party and will win," Saakashvili said.
The Georgian president said he is confident of victory in the Georgian parliamentary elections.
