Chairman of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze left for U.S. with an official visit on Monday morning. As Bakradze told reporters he will attend the Democratic National Convention, which will officially nominate President Barack Obama for a second four-year term.

Chairman of the Georgian Parliament, going number one in the election list of the ruling party United National Movement, said "constant contact with the U.S. authorities is very important for Georgia."

"We always inform our American partners about the pre-election situation in the country, because we are interested in the competitive and fair elections," he stressed.

"In addition, I will take part in a meeting of the leaders, which is very important for us, because it will gather leaders from all over the world, and we will have the opportunity to share our views," Bakradze said.
