The Interior Ministers of Georgia and Lithuania have discussed joint struggle against organized crime at a meeting in Tbilisi.

Bacho Akhalaia and his Lithuanian counterpart Arturas Melianas agreed to cooperate in this field, the Georgian Interior Ministry told Trend.

The Lithuanian minister also promised to assist in the establishment of closer relations of the Georgian side with Europol.

The parties also discussed the issues of Georgian-Lithuanian cooperation between police.

The Lithuanian minister arrived in Georgia on September 9 and during that time get acquainted with the work of the Police Academy of Georgia, as well as emergency services 112.

Malianas will leave Georgia on September 12.
