The government made a serious mistake when not properly assessed the signals of the problems in the prison system reported by the Public Advocate and the individual social groups, conceded National Security Council Secretary Giga Bokeria.
The appalling instances of treatment of detainees, which some TV channels reported on Tuesday, Bokeria answered with a special statement and called it "outrageous and disgusting."
"The government has conducted a successful fight against crime, as well as to the control of crime in jail, but that does not justify all that we saw," - he told reporters.
According to Bokeria, all those involved in the crime will be punished, and the government will take all measures to eradicate the prison system the problems.
