The US House of Representatives passed a resolution to support Georgia.

"This is a very important document in support of Georgia," Georgian ambassador to the USA Temur Yakobashvili said to journalists.

The ambassador said that the resolution states that the United States does not recognize the occupation and current status quo in Georgia, legalization of which is required by Russia.
American congressmen call upon Russia to stop occupation and withdraw armed forces from Georgian territories.

"This document is very important for us due to recognition of occupation of our territories and demanding withdrawal of armed forces and return of refugees to their homes," the ambassador said.

The resolution initiated by congressmen Bill Shuster and Alison Shwarz was unanimously supported.
