In January-August, Georgia's foreign trade turnover with the European Union countries amounted to $1.808 million, or 23 percent more compared to the same period of last year.
According to the Georgian Statistics Service, exports totaled $238 million (a 6-percent increase), imports - $1.570 million (a 26-percent increase).
In general, share of the EU countries in Georgia's trade turnover hit 27 percent, including in exports - 15, and in imports - 31 percent. In January 2011, this figure was respectively 26, 16 and 28 percent).
Georgia's total foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.649 million in January-August.
