About 7,000 Georgians vote in parliamentary elections at a polling station opened at the Georgian Embassy in Baku, the Embassy told Trend.

"The polling station opened at eight in the morning on Oct.1. About 7,000 Georgian citizens working or living in Azerbaijan, as is expected, will vote today at the Embassy," the Embassy said.

Parliamentary elections are underway in Georgia, in which 14 parties and two political blocks participate.

In 2013, after amendments to the Constitution will take effect, the Parliament will receive more authority, and the rights of the head of state will be curtailed.

The elections will be declared valid if the number of voters will be at least one third of the total number of voters.
