A statement posted in popular social network "Facebook" does not belong to Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Presidential spokesperson Natia Bandzeladze told Trend on Tuesday.

She said several pages have been created in the network, which do not belong to the president, and the statement has been posted in one of them.

According to this statement, the president congratulates compatriots with "great victory."

The statement says that these were the most important elections in the new history of independent Georgia. "With these elections, we, as a nation, have expressed our principled position as freedom-seeking society, as an integral part of the Western world. We showed them that actually we deserve to be in their big family," the statement says.
