Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri visited Batumi port and became acquainted with the problems that importers and exporters have at the port.
He also reviewed the procedures that each item must pass after reaching the port. Main observations were related to a small area of the registration zone and tariffs for services.
Khaduri noted that it is necessary to enlarge the area of registration for goods to pass through the procedure smoothly and there is no difficulty in placement.
Finance Minister gave instructions to lower tariffs for services at the port. According to him, the rates must match the products that are registered. Favourable conditions for importers should be created.
Khaduri promised to resolve the problems.
