Georgia, Tbilisi, Nov 29 /Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/
The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia detained the ex-chief of the General Inspection under the Interior Ministry Tengiz Gunava. This time he is accused of misappropriating 300 liters of gasoline , the detainee's lawyer Malkhaz Velidzhanashvili told reporters.
Velidzhanashvili called the charges absurd and far-fetched. "Someone really wants Gunava to be in prison, and he is in prison on the trumped-up charges, although it isn't a serious crime and there was no need in arrest," the lawyer said.
It should be noted that Gunava was arrested once in mid-November on charges of drug use and illegal possession of weapon. However, the court not only dismissed the charges but also filed a suit against policemen, accusing them of planting drugs and arms on Gunava.
