Georgia reduces electricity export volume in 2012

Electricity export volume from Georgia in 2012 hit 528.2 million kW / h.

The Commercial Power System Operator told Trend that around 930.6 million kW / h of electricity was exported from Georgia in 2011.
Electricity exports to Russia in 2012 amounted to 369.4 million kW / h (in 2011 - 588.6 million kW / h), to Azerbaijan - 11.8 million kW / h (6 million kW / h ), to Armenia - 68 million kW / h (117.5 million kW / h), to Turkey - 79 million kW / h (218.6 million kW / h).

The electricity volume imported to Georgia for 2012 hit 614.6 million kW / h, while 471.06 million kW / h in 2011. Around 516.8 million kW / h was imported from Russia last year (in 2011 - 447.6 million kW / h), from Azerbaijan - 97.8 million kW / h (23.4 million kW / h), from Turkey - 0.0006 million kW / h (0.0028 million kW / h) of electricity.

Electricity was not imported from Armenia in 2012 as in the previous year.
