Gigi Ugulava will not be able to appear for questioning by investigative service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, as he received a summons with a delay on Saturday and his day has already been planned out. He will wait for the investigator at 16.00 in his office, Ugulava told "Rustavi-2" TV channel.

As previously reported, Tbilisi mayor Gigi Ugulava was summoned to the Prosecutor's office of Georgia as a witness in the case of "Tbilservis group". The mayor was invited for questioning on Saturday, February 2, at 13:00.

"I have already planned my activities for Saturday. However, I may receive Investigation Service representatives in my office at City Hall," Ugulava said.

He also mentioned that if he received a summons for questioning in time, he could adjust his plans.

Summons for questioning was delivered to Tbilisi mayor's office on Friday evening, but as the working day was over, the addressee couldn't receive the document. However, the notice was later delivered to the house of the mayor.

Ugulava said he believes the investigation is "politically motivated", although he is ready to answer all questions. The mayor added he heads abroad for participation in Marshall Fund Conference with the president on Saturday and is ready to cooperate with investigatory powers upon his return.

"Those who think I am not coming back, don't except it ... I will not give them such pleasure," Ugulava said.
