Georgia, Tbilisi, Mar. 8 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia /

Georgian parliament unanimously (96 votes) adopted on Thursday a resolution which defines the main directions of the foreign policy of the country. Resolution consisting of 19 points was supported by the opposition after it had been amended some changes.

The resolution is based on the document, which was originally presented by the "Georgian Dream" in the form of interfraction agreement, but it is a modified version of the final shows and proposals of the National Movement, including the fact that Georgia has not entered into the international organizations that are contrary to the main Foreign policy priorities of the country - Georgia's integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures.

Resolution of the Parliament of Georgia on the main directions of Georgia's foreign policy is based on the Constitution, the laws of Georgia and international agreements, guided by the public interest of Georgia, including the will of people expressed in a plebiscite in 2008 for joining NATO.

It considers the priority of national security, the overall responsibility of the political forces for preachment of those targets, confirming Georgia's commitment not to use force, which was made by the President of Georgia to the international community November on 23, 2010 in Strasbourg, while speaking with a speech in the European Parliament.

The main directions of the foreign policy direction of the Parliament of Georgia has announced the creation of guarantee of security, the protection of the independence, sovereignty, and the reunification of the country's internationally recognized borders.
