Georgian FM: Granting autonomy to Samtskhe-Javakheti is out of question

Armenians living in Georgia are citizens of this country and have equal rights with Georgians, so granting them this or that status is out of the question, Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze said at a press conference in Baku on Tuesday, commenting on the question of the Georgian region of Samtskhe-Javakheti.

Armenians living in Georgia are citizens of this country and have equal rights with Georgians, so granting them this or that status is out of the question, Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze said at a press conference in Baku on Tuesday, commenting on the question of the Georgian region of Samtskhe-Javakheti.

Samtskhe-Javakheti is the region in the southern part of central Georgia with an Armenian majority. Armenians inhabitants have repeatedly raised the issue of granting autonomy to the region.
