The result of sixmonth Russian-Georgian dialogue was opening of the Russian market for Georgian products, special representative of the Prime Minister of Georgia on the Russian-Georgian relations, Zurab Abashidze said at a press conference on Friday.
He commented on the details of his next meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Grigory Karasin in Prague.
"We have agreed from the beginning that the dialogue concerns only trade and economic, transport, cultural and humanitarian issues. But since last week, the situation on the administrative border has escalated significantly, we have not been able to work around this issue, although for such issues exist Geneva format. We expressed deep concern over the situation on the line of separation. Mr. Karasin said that will take additional measures to study the issue and a detailed discussion on this subject will be held on 26-27 June in Geneva. It is not in our interests to transfer the topics in the bilateral format, which are designed to Geneva format, "- Abashidze said.
He also addressed the issue of the return of Georgian products to the Russian market, noting that from January 1 "Lars-Kazbegi" working around the clock and will also address the issues of product transportation by rail.
