Downpour floods Western Georgia homes

The first floors of private houses were flooded in villages of Martvili in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region in Western Georgia by heavy rains.
The disaster destroyed farmland and caused the death of livestock and poultry. In the village of Tamakoni, the downpours demolished the bridge that connects two parts of the village.
The disaster also damaged villages Tsalenjikha and Chkhorotsqu municipalities.
Rescue teams worked all night in the affected villages. Law enforcement officers were mobilized. Local authorities also were on site.
