The Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili officially introduced Giorgi Margvelashvily as a presidential candidate from the ruling Georgian Dream Coalition on Monday.

"We are preparing for victory. We present a worthy representative of our society and a European-style leader as our presidential candidate," Ivanishvili said on Monday in the village of Nakalakevi of the Senaki region (Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, Western Georgia), where he presented the presidential candidate in the presence of 500 people.

The Prime Minister described Margvelashvily as a talented, independent, bold and direct intellectual, who will win in free and fair elections.

The candidate said he will fight for every vote.

Premier has presented Margvelashvily with a pen, with which he signed his application for registration in the parliamentary elections, bringing victory to his coalition. The presidential candidate has signed his application for registration in the Central Election Commission with that pen, noting the symbolism of this action.

Presidential elections are scheduled in Georgia for October 27. The official registration of candidates will begin on September 7.
