The renaming of the Tbilisi airport has been postponed for an indefinite term.
This initiative was blocked at a commission hearing at the Sakrebulo (city council) of the Georgian capital of Tbilisi, after the matter was withdrawn from the agenda at the request of Georgia's Republican Party.
The party said the reason for this was a more detailed preparation of the project.
It was stated in the city council that this initiative will not be included in the agenda for the city council's meeting as it did not pass the commission hearings.
