Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili met with investors wishing to invest in the construction of Lazika port.
After the meeting with investors in Batumi on Tuesday, Mikheil Saakashvili said that there are businessmen abroad who are actually interested in participating in port's construction.
The Georgian President underscored that the construction of this port will increase Georgia's transit opportunities for container transportation by four times.
"The Government of Georgia also verbally supports the construction of the port, but in reality everything goes differently," Saakashvili said.
According to him, the port's construction, which was launched in his time, is frozen now, and it is necessary to begin the improvement of infrastructure as soon as possible, and after this the business will be able to participate in port's construction.
"There are interest and resources, and it is necessary to take the advantage of it," Saakashvili said.
