Georgia's Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili is on an official visit to Latvia. A joint press conference was held after the meeting of Georgian Prime Minister with his Latvian counterpart Valdis Dombrovskis. The sides announced the details of the meeting at the press conference.

The head of the Georgian government stated that Georgia and Latvia are bound by a common history and European values, the Prime Minister Ivanishvili's official Facebook page said on Friday.

"As for my meeting with Dombrovskis, I familiarized him with the ongoing political processes in Georgia and country's foreign priorities. We also discussed the topical aspects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The conversation touched upon Georgia's integration into NATO and the EU," Ivanishvili said.

The Georgian Prime Minister went on to add that the importance of initialling the Association Agreement at Vilnius summit was underscored during the meeting.

"Our purpose is to effectively use the opportunities offered by the Eastern Partnership, in accordance with agenda of the European integration. Despite successful relations in the political sphere, the potential of the industry cooperation between our countries has not been totally used, and especially in the sphere of economy, which should be corrected. I am glad that I will attend the Riga Conference during my first official visit," Ivanishvili said.
