On October 4, Georgian Parliament unanimously supported the creation of the state commission for implementation of constitutional reform.

On October 4, Georgian Parliament unanimously supported the creation of the state commission for implementation of constitutional reform.

The commission will be headed by the Chairman of Georgian Parliament David Usupashvili.

The commission must develop a new model of the Constitution by September 1, 2014.

The Chairman of the commission was instructed to provide information about commission's structure, its activity and decision-making rules, as well as to complement its composition during a month.

According to predetermined rules, 20 MPs will participate in commission's work.

It will also include: a representative from each party that receives a state funding, a representative from each party that does not receive a state funding, the candidate of which will collect at least three percent of votes at the presidential elections on October 27.

The committee will also include: the chairmen of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts, Chairmen of Supreme Councils of Abkhazia and Adjara, the Public Defender, the Minister of Justice, Parliamentary Secretaries of the President and the government and the chairman of Georgian Bar Association.
