"It is time to know our rights" and "Apriori" non-governmental organizations join the civil petition for Georgia's non-participation in the Sochi Olympics.

These organizations have created an initiative group which will begin collecting signatures calling for a boycott of the Sochi Olympics.

"Proceeding from the current reality, when Russia occupied 20 percent of our land, there is a creeping occupation when our fellow citizens are in a bad situation," leader of one of the organizations Ganza Imnadze said. "Someone says that the sport is not politics. But we believe that sports and culture in this situation are politics."

According to her, "No occupation" appeal must mean a boycott of the Sochi Olympics.

The rallies calling for a boycott of the Olympic Games in Sochi will be held at the initiative of non-governmental organizations in 21 Georgian towns on October 19. In particular, the rallies will be held in Batumi, Kobuleti, Poti, Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha, Kutaisi, Tsageri, Zestafoni, Samtredia, Akhaltsikhe, Gori, Signakhi, Marneuli, Telavi, Tkibuli, Khobi, Telavi, Rustavi, Chiatura and Khashuri.
