Georgia, Tbilisi, Oct. 25 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia /
The Georgian students intend to spend an action of protest against the construction of Hudoni hydroelectric power station in front of the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Culture today.
Then they will go to the Ministry of Environment.
According to the organizers of the rally, the students will protest because the new government continues the policy of building giant power stations initiated by the previous authorities, jeopardizing the ecological system of the country.
The students will express solidarity with the population of Svaneti, which is also against the construction of Hudoni hydroelectric power station.
The Georgian government and Georgian Hydro Power company formalized a memorandum on the construction of two hydroelectric power stations in the west of the country on October 22.
The agreement was signed by Minister of Energy Kakha Kaladze and director general of the company Shamil Birkadze.
