Dialogue on resuming Israel-Georgia military cooperation to be continued

Tbilisi, Georgia, April 26

By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

Israeli Interior Minister Gideon Sa'ar does not rule out the resumption of Israel-Georgia military cooperation.

Sa'ar spoke at a press conference on April 25 in Tbilisi and answered to a question on the Israeli-Georgia military cooperation, which was suspended after the war between Russian and Georgia.

"Four months ago, the defence minister visited Israel. A dialogue on this and other issues was held during this visit. We are convinced that this dialogue will be continued," the Israeli minister said.

Sa'ar stressed the relations have been strengthening recently in a number of aspects.

"We will see, maybe this will also be the same in the military sphere. The dialogue also touched upon the issues of counter-terrorism and cooperation in this area. I think that strengthening of cooperation in all areas is a great merit of prime ministers and authorities in general, both Georgian and Israeli," Sa'ar said.
