Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania met with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen on June 4.

The meeting was held as part of the ministerial meeting in NATO headquarters, the Georgian foreign ministry told Trend.

The parties discussed the current processes in the country and reforms implemented in the defense ministry. The special attention was paid to Georgia's participation in the ISAF operation including their part in the "Decisive support" mission.

NATO Secretary General thanked the guest for Georgia's contribution to the international operation in Afghanistan. Rasmussen stressed that the progress achieved by Georgia in democratic development and transparency, as well as in the transformation of the defense sector.

NATO Secretary General reiterated NATO's support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
