Georgian Finance Minister Nodar Khaduri met with the heads of construction and developer companies. The situation in the construction sector and the necessary measures for the development of the industry were discussed.
As it is known, in January-May the economic activity in the country has increased by 13 percent. The highest increase rate of 28.5 percent accounted for the construction sector.
The finance minister informed the event participants on the positive trends of economic growth in January-May, the country's macroeconomic indicators, the dynamics for 6 months in terms of tax revenues, as well as data on the reduction of external debt.
The government representatives listened to suggestions and considerations regarding that a lot should be done for the activization of public and private infrastructure projects and for attraction of investment in this direction.
The meeting also touched upon such issues as the country's urban policy, the banking sector, procurement law, familiarization with international experience in the direction of preparing technical and project proposals, the need to promote innovative projects, improvement of tax base and so on.
