Despite Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze's statement about her and her deputies' resignation, Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania decided to temporarily stay in office.

"I got the tasks from Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili," Jalagania said in an interview with "Maestro" TV company during his visit to Cuba. "All tasks must be fulfilled. I will temporarily continue my activity. In this situation, I really have no right to disregard the needs of the country's foreign policy and objectives."

All top officials of the Georgian foreign ministry decided to resign after Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili decided to dismiss Defense Minister Irakli Alasania. Afterwards, the members of his team, namely, Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze and State Minister for Integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures Alexi Petriashvili resigned.

Only Minister of Justice Tea Tsulukiani among the members of Alasania's party refused to leave her post.
