The largest faction of the European Parliament - European People's Party (EPP) - urges Georgian authorities to abandon the selective justice with respect to opponents, said the statement from EPP on Nov.6.

The ruling team should respect the association agreement signed between Georgia and EU, according to the statement.

"For two years now, the repeated arrests, trials and detention of political opponents in Georgia cause our concern," said the EPP statement.

EPP expressed concern about the resignation of Georgian defense minister and foreign minister.

The statement said that the resignation of the three ministers can entail a crisis situation and hinder the ratification of the association agreement between Georgia and EU.

Following the meeting of the political council of the Georgian Dream bloc on Nov.4, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced the dismissal of Defense Minister Irakli Alasania. Alasania's friend and colleague, the State Minister of Georgia for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alexi Petriashvili resigned as well.

Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze resigned on Nov.5.
