Constitutionalist Irakli Kobakhidze was appointed the executive secretary of Georgia's ruling coalition - Georgian Dream - on Jan.26, Kakha Kaladze, the party's secretary general, vice speaker and energy minister said.

He made the remarks following the meeting of the party's executive committee.

Kaladze expressed confidence that Kobakhidze's professionalism will allow to develop the coalition's structure and to improve it on the eve of the parliamentary election in Georgia scheduled for 2016.

Kobakhidze, for his part, said that the Georgian Dream coalition has certain problems and pledged to make every effort to resolve them.

He said the party has problems in its regional offices, as well as financial problems, adding that the plans are to strengthen the party in all spheres.

"We are going to strengthen the regional offices," he said. "It is necessary to reorganize them."

Irakli Kobakhidze's father Giorgi Kobakhidze left the politics because of this appointment. He held an important post in the Democratic Movement - United Georgia party of ex-speaker Nino Burjanadze.
