The former deputy chief of Georgian Navy Victor Chelidze has been detained by the Interpol in Belgium.

He was extradited to Georgia on January 31, Georgian branch of Interpol told Trend on Feb.2.

Chelidze served as the deputy commander of Georgian naval forces stationed in Poti in 2000-2005.

Chelidze, who was charged with the abuse of power, misappropriation of state property and embezzlement in Georgia, was listed as wanted by Interpol.
