Georgia reveals its top imported goods in 10M2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 23

Georgia’s imports from January through October 2021 amounted to $7.9 billion, which is an increase of 22.3 percent, compared to $6.4 billion over the reporting period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

The share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia in the reporting period of 2021 amounted to 67.3 percent, the report said.

TOP-5 commodities in total imports (Jan. through Oct. 2021):

Vehicles – 8.9 percent of total imports, or $706.7 million (increase of 6.2 percent, compared to $665.4 million over the same period of 2020);

Petroleum and petroleum oils – 8.2 percent of total imports, or $651.9 million (increase of 58 percent, compared to $415.5 million over the same period of 2020);

Copper ores and concentrates – 7.1 percent of total imports, or $564.8 million (increase of 22 percent, compared to $462.9 million over the same period of 2020);

Medicine – 3.8 percent of total imports, or $298.7 million (increase of 18.2 percent, compared to $252.7 million over the same period of 2020);

Petroleum gases – 3 percent of total imports, or $235.8 million (decrease of 1.5 percent, compared to $239.3 million over the same period of 2020).
