Georgia’s domestic supply of natural gas slightly decreases

The domestic supply of natural gas in Georgia over the reporting period of 2021 decreased by 4.1 percent to 1.62 billion cubic meters, compared to 1.69 billion cubic meters over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

Meanwhile, the share of electricity generation in the total domestic supply of natural gas from January through September 2021 amounted to 217.8 million cubic meters, which is a decrease of 40 percent, compared to 363.3 million cubic meters over the same period of 2020.

According to the statistics, Georgia’s natural gas production from January through September 2021 amounted to 11.1 million cubic meters, which is an increase of 79 percent, compared to 6.2 million cubic meters over the same period of 2020.

Georgia’s natural gas imports slightly decreased by 4.1 percent to 1.61 billion cubic meters over the first 9 months of 2021, compared to 1.68 billion cubic meters in the same period of 2021.
