Georgia doubles oil products import from Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 21

Georgia’s imports of petroleum and petroleum oils from Azerbaijan from January through November 2021 amounted to $115.2 million (207,034 tons), Trend reports via national Statistics Office (Geostat).

The same index increased by 92.6 percent, compared to $59.8 worth of oil products over the same period of 2020.

The volume of exported production from Azerbaijan to Georgia in the reporting period of 2021 also increased by 6.2 percent, compared 194,901 tons over first 11 months of 2020.

Azerbaijan ranked 3 among main petroleum and petroleum oils exporters to Georgia from January through November 2021, following Turkmenistan with 281,470 tons of exports worth $175.7 million, and Russia with $123.4 million worth of exports (206,511 tons).

Meanwhile, Georgia’s total imports of petroleum and petroleum oils from January through November 2021 amounted to 1.1 million tons worth $737.8 million.
