Georgia names main goods imported from Turkmenistan

Georgia’s imports from Turkmenistan from January through November 2021 amounted to $188.6 million. The current figure increased by 183.6 percent, compared to $66.5 million over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).

According to Geostat, the share of Turkmenistan in total Georgia’s imports in the reporting period of 2021 accounted for 2.1 percent.

Thus, Turkmenistan ranks 10 among main exporters to Georgia over the first 11 months of 2021, the report said.

TOP-5 commodities exported to Georgia from Turkmenistan (Jan. through Nov. 2021):

Fuels and lubricants – $175.6 million;

Industrial supplies – $9.6 million;

Transport equipment – $1.9 million;

Capital goods – $711.590;

Consumer goods – $470.640.

The foreign trade turnover between Georgia and Turkmenistan from January through November 2021 increased by 153.6 percent, compared to $78.4 million over the same period of 2020, and amounted to $198.9 million.
