Georgia’s imports of petroleum and petroleum oils from Turkey in December 2021 increased by 533.3 percent, compared to the same period of 2020 ($1.5 million), to $9.5 million, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The value of the exports in December 2021 also increased by 82.6 percent, compared to $5.2 million over the previous month of 2021.
Georgia’s imports of petroleum and petroleum oils from Turkey in 2021 amounted to $34.4 million, which is an increase of 62.2 percent, compared to $21.2 million over the same period of 2020.
Turkey ranks 6 among TOP-10 petroleum and petroleum oils exporters to Georgia in 2021. Meanwhile, Turkmenistan ranks first ($191.8 million), followed by Russia ($134.6 million), and Romania ($133.7 million).
Thus, Georgia’s total petroleum and petroleum oils imports amounted to $822.5 million – an increase of 64.9 percent, compared to $498.6 million in 2020.
