Liabilities of Georgia's micro-finance organizations up

The liabilities of Georgia’s microfinance organizations in the fourth quarter of 2021 amounted to 1.06 billion Georgian lari ($331.2 million), which is an increase of 8.1 percent, compared to 983.1 million Georgian lari ($307.2 million) over the same period of 2020, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

The same figure also increased by 3.9 percent, compared to 1.02 billion Georgian lari ($318.7 million) worth of liabilities over the third quarter of 2021.

Meanwhile, the borrowed means of the total liabilities of Georgia’s microfinance organizations in the reporting period of 2021 amounted to 778 million Georgian lari ($243.1 million), which is an increase of 7 percent, compared to 727.1 million Georgian lari ($227.2 million) over the same period of 2020, and by 2.6 percent, compared to 758.2 million Georgian lari ($236.9 million) over the third quarter of 2021.

However, the debt securities of the total liabilities of Georgia’s microfinance organizations in the fourth quarter of 2021 decreased by 8.6 percent, compared to 134.2 million Georgian lari ($41.9 million) over the same period of 2020, and by 1.2 percent, compared to 124.1 million Georgian lari ($38.7 million) over the third quarter of 2021, and totaled 122.6 million Georgian lari ($38.3).

The accrued interest and dividends payable accounted for 12.1 million Georgian lari ($3.7 million), the subordinated liabilities - for 74.2 million Georgian lari ($23.1 million), and other liabilities - 76.2 million Georgian lari ($23.8 million) of the total liabilities.

The total assets of Georgia’s microfinance organizations in the fourth quarter of 2021 amounted to 1.6 billion Georgian lari ($510.7 million), which is an increase of 14.2 percent, compared to 1.4 billion Georgian lari ($461.5 million) over the same period of 2020.
