BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. Georgia’s imports of petroleum and petroleum oils from Turkey from January through February 2022 totaled $4.9 million, which is an increase of 16.6 percent, compared to $4.2 million over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

However, the amount of Turkey’s oil exports to Georgia in February 2022 alone decreased by 38.7 percent, compared to the same month of 2021 ($3.1 million), and by 34.4 percent, compared to January 2022 ($2.9 million) - to $1.9 million.

Thus, Turkey ranked 6 among main petroleum and petroleum oils exporters to Georgia from January through February 2022. Meanwhile, Romania ($41.7 million), Bulgaria ($28.8 million), and Azerbaijan ($27.4 million) were TOP-3.

Georgia’s total imports of petroleum and petroleum oils in the reporting period of 2022 increased by 94.4 percent, compared to the same period of 2021 ($83.6 million), and totaled $162.6 million.

Georgia’s imports in the reporting period of 2022 totaled $1.7 billion – an increase of 47 percent, compared to $1.1 billion from January through February 2021, and 30.7 percent, compared to the period of 2020 ($1.3 billion).
