BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 29. Georgia’s coal and coal products import value from January through February 2022 amounted to $897,430, which is a decrease of 41.3 percent, compared to $1.5 million over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The value of Georgia’s coal and coal products imported in February 2022 alone decreased by 29.3 percent, compared to $651,120 over the same period of 2021, and totaled $460,340. However, the same figure increased by 5.3 percent, compared to January 2022 ($437,090).
Meanwhile, Turkey ranked first among the main coal and coal products exporters to Georgia from January through February 2022. The value of the exports increased by 14.3 percent, compared to $390,750 worth of coal and coal products exports over the same period of 2021, and totaled $446,690.

Georgia’s total imports in the reporting period of 2022 totaled $1.7 billion – an increase of 47 percent, compared to $1.1 billion from January through February 2021, and 30.7 percent, compared to the period of 2020 ($1.3 billion).
