BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. The consumer price index increased by 0.2 percent in Georgia in July 2022, compared to June 2022, Trend reports via National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

According to Geostat, the annual inflation rate in Georgia amounted to 11.5 percent in July 2022. In terms of the annual core inflation, the prices increased by 7.1 percent, while the annual core inflation without tobacco amounted to 7 percent.

The annual inflation rate was mostly influenced by price changes for the following groups:

- Transport (20.6-percent increase, contributing 2.46 percentage points to the annual inflation rate);

- Food and non-alcoholic beverages (16.4-percent increase, contributing 5.25 percentage points to the annual inflation rate);

- Restaurants and hotels (14.3 percent, contributing 0.62 percentage points to the annual inflation rate);

- Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels (13.3-percent increase, contributing 1.31 percentage points to the annual inflation rate).
